About Dr. Eric Berg
The Berg Institute of Health & Wellness was founded in 1997 in Seminole, Florida, by Dr. Eric Berg, DC, The Knowledge Doc, who also serves as the Institute's Chief Executive Officer. The mission of the Institute is to educate the public about proper nutrition, the human body, and the importance of good health.
Through the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting, Dr. Berg encourages patients to take charge of their health and wellness to lose weight effectively.
When Dr. Berg finished chiropractic college in 1988, he began conducting nutritional research. His drive came from a curiosity about the causes of his food-related health problems.
Today, Dr. Eric educates his students on various medical subjects. He is an expert at breaking down complicated health issues, identifying their underlying causes, and developing nutritional plans for recovery. His long-term eating plan, which includes the healthy keto diet and intermittent fasting, is now widely regarded as a game-changer for achieving exceptional health.
Sharing His Knowledge
After experiencing a dramatic improvement in his health thanks to the knowledge he gained from studying the science of nutrition, Dr. Eric Berg transitioned from practicing chiropractic full-time to sharing his methods with other doctors. He even spent some time as an associate professor at Howard University.
His 2006 book, The 7 Principles of Fat Burning, was revised and updated in 2019 as The Healthy Keto Plan and is now a #1 best seller on Amazon.
On YouTube, where he has amassed over 6,000 videos, 18 million subscribers, and 100 million views per month, he has been sharing his thoughts on healthy eating and other health-related topics since 2008. In addition, he developed a course for training Keto Coaches worldwide that delves into the concepts of keto and intermittent fasting.
Dr. Berg's primary goal is empowering individuals to take charge of their health.

Dr. Eric Berg is driven by his interest in health in many other areas besides his work at the Berg Institute, including his leisure activities. He said, "it has become a hobby to investigate the fundamental causes of disease." He overcame the negative effects of being "the meat and potatoes kid" by working too hard and eating too much, which sparked his passion.
At 32 years old, he discovered the importance of proper nutrition and felt like himself again, able to keep up with his busy wife Karen and their three energetic children.
Eric now values his spare time more than he ever has before. He finds solace in crafting instruments by hand and collaborating with Karen to develop tasty, nutritious dishes.
Dr. Berg has recently relocated to a picturesque farm, researching nutrient-dense food and nutrient-dense animals and studying the soil extensively. Karen acknowledges that the origin of everything in the kitchen is the soil.
